The Alps multi-touchpad is sufficiently ( sony VGP-BPS13A/S battery ) dimensioned with a 9.1 centimeter diameter. It is sensitive right up to the edges. The touchpad only has a vertical scroll bar, which isn't marked though.

The non-reflective LED panel ( Battery Vostro 1320 ) (type: Samsung LTN156AT02P01) has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The WXGA resolution is the standard for 14 and 13 inch notebooks. The measured black level lies at 1.42 cd/m², which comes with a very bad contrast of 131:1. Blacks are therefore not very dark, but have more of a gray glimmer.

Professionals will opt for the optional resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels. (Dell Inspiron 1720 Battery ) Whether the color space of the HD+ panel in the E5420 is also just as humble can't be assessed in this case. The HD+ display in the Latitude E6420 (see the last ICC picture) had a similarly small color space, and we suspect that both of the 14 inch devices have the same panel built in.

The WXGA (Battery Dell Inspiron 1520 ) panel in our tested device is definitely a far stretch from the often used Adobe RGB (t), which is also the case for sRGB (t). For the sake of comparison we have also included a (not very good) display panel from the Vaio EB3Z1E Full HD (t).

The luminance is the same as the contrast, and stays well below 200 cd/m². ( Dell Inspiron 1420 battery ) On average we determined an illumination of 177 cd/m². This is sufficient for use indoors, but very bright surroundings, such as in the sun, won't be favorable for a dark desktop display.

The matte surface of a notebook display panel is the first and foremost requirement for relaxed working under sunlight.( Battery Dell Inspiron 1525 ) As much as we turn and twist the Latitude E5420, no reflections are disturbing. From the front the meager luminance is just about sufficient, from the sides the picture can already become noticeably darker.

Towards the right and left (horizontally), we were able to deviate up to 45 degrees from the middle. Beyond this the colors start to invert considerably. Display panels with wide viewing angles are a rarity,(Sony VGP-BPS13B/B battery ) and the Latitude E5420 is also not an exception to this.

Dell's 14 inch notebook is equipped with an Intel Core i3-2310M (2 x 2.1 GHz). ( Battery Dell Vostro 1520 ) The brand new Core i3 dual-core CPU has Hyper-Threading (process 4 threads), but doesn't have Turbo-Boost. The CPU power consumption lies at a TDP of 35 Watts. Of these the two physical cores require 25 Watts. 10 Watts are required by the integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics solution and the memory controller. ( Dell Inspiron 6400 Battery ) Compared to the expensive Core i5 models, such as the i5-2540M, the i3-2310M doesn't have any support for the AES New Instructions. AES helps with encrypting and decrypting. Dell allows for configurations with a 2540M up to an i7-2620M (dual-core).

As usual there are 4 GB of DDR3 RAM on board,(HP Compaq 8510w battery ) whereby both of the available slots are occupied. For an additional sum the E5420 can be fitted with 2x 4 GB or 1x 4 GB of RAM. The hard drive is a 320 GB HDD from Western Digital (WD3200BEKT-75KA9T0) with a rotational speed of 7200 rpm. An SSD option (128 GB) is also provided by the manufacturer.

The Sandy Bridge Core i3-2310M (2x 2.1 GHz) (battery VGP-BPS9/B ) manages to score as many points in the single-core test in Cinebench R10 Single 32-bit, as the significantly faster clocking i3-380M (2x 2.5GHz from the Arrandale generation (2.769 points). The bigger brother i5-2410M (2.3 GHz, Turbo) scores a better 4.510 points (64-bit).

When it comes to daily work multi-threading is more relevant. ( Acer Aspire 4520 Battery ) The i3-2310M once again scores almost identically in this discipline as the i3-380M (6.233). The 2011 i5-2410M or i5-2520M scored 9.451 and 10.128 points respectively (Cinebench R10 Multi 64-bit). The upshot: The Sandy Bridge Core i3 can already take on its faster clocking Arrandale predecessors with a meager clock speed of 2.1 GHz.

Dell Latitude D620 Battery,Latitude D620 Battery

Für unsere Spieletests haben wir die beiden Titel Starcraft 2,( Dell Latitude D620 Battery ) Crysis und Crysis 2 herangezogen. Der Echtzeit-Strategietitel Starcraft 2 lässt sich problemlos noch bis in die mittleren Detailstufen spielen. Ab den hohen Einstellungen bewegt man sich aber haarscharf auf der 24 fps Grenze. Die Ultra Einstellungen werden dann schon nicht mehr flüssig wiedergegeben.

Crysis ist mit dem erscheinen von Crysis 2 mittlerweile veraltet.( Dell Laptop Battery ) Trotzdem eignet sich das Spiel immer noch sehr gut um die Leistung aktueller Systeme zu bestimmen. Während die minimalen und mittleren Einstellungen das EasyNote TS11 völlig unbeeindruckt lassen, befindet man sich bei den hohen Details schon sehr nahe an der 24 fps Grenze. Diese wird dann wieder mit den Ultra Einstellungen unterschritten.(dell vostro 1400 battery ) Das Spiel wird damit zwar nicht komplett unspielbar, Spielfreude kommt so aber nicht auf.

Die erzielten Werte befinden sich grob in der Nähe der Werte, ( Vostro 1310 battery ) die für diese Grafikkarte bereits in anderen Test ermittelt wurde. Weitere Spiele und deren Ergebnisse können in unserer umfangreichen Grafikkarten-Spieleliste nachgelesen werden.

Im Betrieb macht das EasyNote TS11 eine gute Figur.( sony VGP-BPS13A/S battery ) Im Office-Betrieb gibt das Notebook unauffällige 31.0 dB(A) – 32.6 dB(A) von sich. Damit ist das Notebook angenehm ruhig und fällt in einer normallauten Umgebung überhaupt nicht auf. Unter Belastung steigt die Lautstärke auf maximal 38.5 dB(A) an. Auch diese Lautstärke befindet sich noch im Rahmen und wirkt nicht dominant.( Battery Vostro 1320 ) Einzig wenn man eine DVD wiedergeben möchte, wird das EasyNote TS11 etwas lauter. Die 41.0 dB(A) sind nun schon deutlich hörbar. Die Filmgeräusche sollten das laufende Laufwerk in den meisten Fällen aber übertönen. Erfreulicherweise gibt es keine sonstigen Störquellen, wie beispielsweise pfeifende Kondensatoren oder unsauber laufende Lüfter.

Anhand der Temperaturen merkt man recht schnell, dass im Packard Bell EasyNote TS11 leistungsstarke Hardware verbaut wurde. Wird das System belastet, erwärmt sich das Gehäuse des Notebooks deutlich. (Dell Inspiron 1720 Battery ) Auf der Oberseite erreicht das Gehäuse bis zu 49 Grad Celsius und das ausgerechnet im Bereich des Touchpads. Die beiden Seiten der Handballenauflage sind mit 34,8 und 29,8 Grad Celsius glücklicherweise deutlich kühler. Trotzdem ist die durchschnittliche Temperatur der Oberseite mit 37,9 Grad Celsius recht hoch. Die untere Seite des Gehäuses erwärmt sich auf maximal 47,3 Grad Celsius und liegt damit in einem Bereich in dem es langsam unangenehm werden kann,(Battery Dell Inspiron 1520 ) wenn man das Notebook auf den Oberschenkeln abstellt. Im Sommer dürften hier noch einige Grad Celsius hinzukommen.

Im Leerlauf oder unter leichter Belastung (Office) gibt sich das EasyNote TS11 wieder unproblematisch.( Dell Inspiron 1420 battery ) Die Temperaturen an Ober- und Unterseite des Notebooks liegen deutlich unterhalb der 30 Grad Celsius Grenze.

Im CineBench R11.5 Benchmark schlägt sich das EasyNote TS11 deutlich besser.( Battery Dell Inspiron 1525 ) Bei der CPU Bewertung erreicht das EasyNote TS11 eine 4.7 und positioniert sich so im oberen Drittel der Tabelle. Damit liegt es gleich auf mit dem aktuellen MacBook Pro Modell (Intel 2635QM, AMD HD 6490M). Das Acer Aspire 5750G-2634G64 schafft es mit 4.9 Punkten allerdings auf einen leicht höheren Tabellenplatz.(Battery VGP-BPS13/B ) In der Open GL Wertung kommt das EasyNote TS11 auf 24.2 Punkte und verkleinert dadurch den Abstand zum Acer Aspire 5750G-2634G64 (24.3 Punkte). Das MacBook Pro (22.2 Punkte) lässt das EasyNote TS11 diesmal hinter sich.

Im 3DMark 06 Benchmark befindet sich das EasyNote TS11 mit seinen 8917 Punkten im oberen Drittel. ( Dell Vostro 1510 battery ) Dazu schlägt das Notebook die Konkurrenz mit ähnlicher Hardware.(Sony VGP-BPS13B/B battery ) Das EasyNote TS11 ist das höchstbewertete Notebook mit Intel Core i7-2630QM Prozessor und Nvidia GeForce GT540M Grafik. Das Acer Aspire 5750G-2634G64 liegt mit 8011 Punkten deutlich hinter dem EasyNote TS11 zurück.

Die verbaute ( Battery Dell Vostro 1520 ) Western Digital Festplatte im 2,5 Zoll Format besitzt eine Bruttokapazität von 640 GB. Die Magnetplatten im Inneren werden mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 5.400 Umdrehungen pro Minute rotiert. Zu der Gattung der besonders leistungsfähigen Festplatten zählt das Modell von Western Digital allerdings nicht. Die gezeigte Leistung entspricht eher dem Mittelmaß. ( Dell Inspiron 6400 Battery ) Die maximale Transferrate (82.2 MB/s) kann nicht überzeugen und auch die Zugriffszeit ist mit 20.9 Millisekunden nicht besonders niedrig. Vergleichbare Festplatten legen hier oft bessere Werte an den Tag.

In unserem Belastungstest versuchen wir den Volllastbetrieb zu simulieren. Dazu nutzen wir Prime 95 und FurMark um sowohl Prozessor als auch Grafikkarte auszulasten. Im anschließenden Benchmark überprüfen wir, ob es Leistungseinbrüche gibt.(HP Compaq 8510w battery ) In unserem Belastungstest sind die Temperaturen deutlich angestiegen. Die Prozessortemperatur steigt auf bis zu 94 Grad Celsius an, bevor das Kühlsystem einen Gang nach oben schaltet und die Prozessortemperatur wieder auf rund 85 Grad Celsius herunterkühlt. Leistungseinbrüche während des Belastungstest konnten nicht festgestellt werden. (battery VGP-BPS9/B ) Und auch der anschließende Benchmarktest mit dem 3Mark 06 Benchmark weist keine auffälligen Abweichungen zu den vorherigen Tests auf.

Die Lautsprecher entsprechen dem, was man von einem Mittelklasse Notebook erwarten kann. ( VGP-BPS13A/S Battery ) Die Tonqualität ist in Ordnung und reicht dazu aus, um einen Film wiederzugeben oder um etwas Musik zu hören. Wie üblich, kann auch das EasyNote TS11 nicht gerade durch üppige Bässe punkten – einen extra Subwoofer gibt es nicht-, die Mitten werden aber gut wiedergegeben. Auch die maximale Lautstärke reicht aus, um einen kleineren Raum zu beschallen.

Das Packard Bell EasyNote TS11 kommt auf überzeugende Akkulaufzeiten. (Acer Aspire One Battery ) In unserem Laufzeitbenchmark (BatteryEater Pro) kommt das EasyNote TS11 im Readers Test auf eine Akkulaufzeit von 5 Stunden und 25 Minuten. Ihren Teil dazu trägt die Nvidia Optimus Technologie bei. Sie wechselt automatisch zwischen der Nvidia GeForce GT 540M und der im Prozessor integrierten Intel HD Grafik. ( Acer Aspire 4710 Battery ) Wird die GT 540M nicht benötigt, wechselt das System die Grafikkarte. Dadurch lässt sich der Energieverbrauch des Systems enorm reduzieren, ohne dass der Benutzer etwas davon mitbekommt. Bei unserem BatteryEater Classic test wird nur die GT 540M genutzt, was man auch merkt. Die Akkulaufzeit sinkt auf 61 Minuten.

Am Stromverbrauch erkennt man auch, warum der Akku im Leerlauf so lange hält. ( Acer Aspire 4520 Battery ) Gerade einmal 9.9 Watt bis 13.1 Watt benötigt das Notebook im Idle-Betrieb. Wird die Hardware gefordert, schnellt der Stromverbrauch um ein Vielfaches nach oben. Bis zu 92.2 Watt zeigen unsere Messungen. Positiv fällt der Verbrauch im Standby-Betrieb aus, gerade mal 0,5 Watt ist ein ordentlicher Wert.
